Drunk woman tried to bite police officer
Wigan and Leigh magistrates heard that Lynnie Brooks, of Douglas House in Scholes, had been seen wandering around in her bare feet outside the tower block residence back in December last year.
A concerned member of the public called the police after which 45-year-old Brooks began hurling verbal abuse at people outside the building.

Prosecuting, Tess Kenyon, told the hearing: “When police arrived she was upstairs in the changing rooms and had been in a cubicle for a while. She was talking loudly to herself.
“She was argumentative and refused to answer questions and was clearly under the influence of substances or suffering mental health issues.”
After one of the attending police officers told Brooks he was going to arrest her, she attempted to push him out of the way.

Brooks was then arrested for being drunk and disorderly after numerous warnings and taken to Wigan police station where she was issued a fixed penalty notice. After refusing to pay, the matter was sent to court.
She was fined £220, made to pay £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge. A warrant was issued for her arrest.
