A Bahrain-based consortium led by Talal Al Hammad confirmed last night they will take charge of Wigan Athletic - subject to EFL Board approval - ending months of heartache for fans.

Many fans have now taken to Twitter to express their happiness at the news, with some even claiming a trip to Bahrain could be on the horizon to celebrate - albeit when COVID restrictions end!
