The forward was given a four-match suspension by the RFL's disciplinary after pleading guilty to a Grade D charge of dangerous contact on Castleford's James Clare during last Saturday’s 30-22 win. The tribunal also fined Smithies £500.

The normal suspension range for a Grade D offence is three to five matches.
Smithies was sinbinned for the tackle on Clare and Castleford coach Daryl Powell labelled it a 'crusher tackle' and "terrible".
Smithies took to Twitter, saying: "Hoping James Clare is okay, speedy recovery mate, wasn't intentional."
On Sunday, Clare stated he had been given the all-clear and was "home safe and sound".
